MBFWMadrid-January 2018 receives support from 23 sponsors
As in previous editions, MBFWMadrid January 2018, organised by IFEMA, will also receive a significant amount of support from sponsoring brands. A total of 23 outstanding brands, leaders in the respective sectors, will support this edition. It is notable that several prestigious brands have signed up as sponsors for this edition, choosing MBFWMadrid as a leading brand in the fashion sector to give visibility to their own brands.
Mercedes-Benz, L’Oréal and Inditex are the main sponsors; Samsung, Iberia, Font Vella, Ciroc, Royal Bliss, sponsors; Facebook/Instagram, Dyson, Only YOU Hotels, IED Madrid, Rodilla, Kaiku Caffe Latte, ESNE-Escuela Universitaria de Diseño and Westwing, collaborators, with Ecoembes as the environmental collaborator for the event.
What’s more, this edition of the event counts with the support of Rey Juan Carlos University, Francisco de Vitoria University, Carrighan glasses, Anaconda Snacks Saludables, and the company Supreme Creations Studio, which has created the handbags for this edition, made from organic cotton. The firm Xyon Revolution will also collaborate with its sports shoes serving as the official footwear for the hostesses at this edition.
Fourteen editions as Title Sponsor
Mercedes-Benz holds fourteen consecutive editions as title sponsor of the event; L’Oréal Paris is once again the official make-up artist and hairdresser of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, and INDITEX maintains its institutional support to the main Spanish fashion platform in the world.
Samsung is participating in MBFWMadrid for the tenth year in a row and remains committed to showing convergence points between Fashion and Technology. It is therefore the sponsor of the SAMSUNG EGO young designers’ event, the SAMSUNG EGO young designers’ showroom with direct sales, and the Samsung Ego Innovation Project, an award that seeks to honour projects by young designers who have linked fashion and technology.
Font Vella, Royal Bliss, Only YOU Hotel Atocha and Dyson participate for the first time
Font Vella is participating in MBFWMadrid for the first time. At the Cibelespacio and the Kissing Room, the brand will project an elegant and exclusive high-design space inspired by Font Vella Premium—the new premium bottle with an avant-garde look, clean lines and a very distinctive turquoise colour—in combination with Font Vella Té.
Dysonis also participating in MBFWMadrid for the first time with its Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, the event’s official hairdressing tool, which has revolutionised the world of hairdressing and beauty with its innovative design and technology.
Another new addition is Only YOU Hotels. Only YOU Hotel Atocha and Only YOU Boutique Hotel Madrid are the official hotels of this edition of MBFWMADRID. The Only YOU Hotel Atocha is an establishment with the DNA of the Only YOU brand, part of the Palladium Hotel Group. Its facilities are designed to give guests a personalised, unique and exclusive experience in an industrial and dynamic environment. The hotel has been decorated by interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán and in itself represents a reinvention of the hotel experience in the luxury sector in a groundbreaking and casual way, with fashion as one of its fundamental pillars. It has a magnificent location in the centre of Madrid, and will accomodate the press and international guest buyers. The Only YOU Boutique Hotel Madrid will also host the fashion show by La Condesa.
Royal Bliss, made from a blend of complex flavours with more than 40 undertones, is the event’s new official mixer. From its space in the Kissing Room, Royal Bliss will be welcoming designers at the end of each fashion show, offering them a unique sensory experience through its range of mixers, with tonic waters, ginger ale and aromatic and citrus mixers. Visitors will also be able to enjoy Royal Bliss at the Cibelespacio.
Cîroc and Iberia are back for this edition
Two important brands will be back for this edition: Cîroc, the ultra-premium French vodka, and Iberia.
Cîroc, the exclusive French vodka brand, will be present at the Kissing Room, the event’s most exclusive venue, toasting to the success of each fashion show, just as it features at VIP areas at the world’s best venues and other European fashion weeks.
For its part, Iberia will once again be the host of the MBFWMadrid VIP room. This room made its début with great success a year ago now, and from the beginning it became a welcoming meeting point for those who form part of the Spanish fashion industry, as well as for figures and personalities whose presence at the shows helps project and disseminate the best image of the Spanish fashion industry. The VIP room sponsored by Iberia will be located in MBFWMadrid Cibelespacio and will offer a concept similar to that of the airline lounges at airports.
Facebook and Instagram will also return. On this occasion, they will host an event on Wednesday 24 January in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid with the support of Madrid Capital de Moda called “The New Showcase for Fashion“, which will take place at the Caja de Música in the Palacio de Cibeles. At this event, industry representatives will find out first hand how social media platforms have become the focus for the conversation around fashion, serving as inspiration and forming part of the consumer purchase cycle. “The New Showcase for Fashion” will feature Charo Izquierdo, Director of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid; Juan Pedro Moreno, President of Accenture Iberia and Israel, and Laurent Solly, VP Southern Europe at Facebook, among others.
The crowning moment of this fashion industry event will be the presentation of the first edition of the “Atlas de la Moda” or “Fashion Atlas”, the imprint of Spanish fashion on the world, which will take place on the evening of 24 January at the same venue. A document, promoted by the Leading Brands of Spain Forum and drawn up for publication by Modaes.es, which contains an analysis of the most significant international markets for Spanish brands. The conclusions of this report will be presented by Modaes.es as part of an interesting programme which also includes a round table with the directors of major Spanish brands and a talk given by Marisa Manzano from Facebook.
MBFWM is also maintaining its commitment to sustainability and caring for the environment with the presence of Ecoembes, which is back as the event’s environmental collaborator.
New collaborator Desigual and MBFWM are joining forces to develop UN-DRESS, a proposal which arose last September driven by the Barcelona-based brand, with the aim of debating the needs of Spanish fashion and finding areas of cooperation to help designers and fashion professionals to project themselves globally.
In January 2018, UN-DRESS will have a devoted space at hall 14.1 at IFEMA and will once again bring together reputed industry professionals to talk about the identity of Spanish fashion, its tradition and branding. Through talks, round tables and workshops, the industry’s age-old professions will be analysed and the recycling and re-use of garments will be discussed.
The area of fashion education will also be present at this edition of MBFWMadrid with the participation of ESNE – University School of Design. As well as a stand at Cibelespacio, ESNE will hold an off-schedule fashion show on 25 January at 19:00 in the tropical garden at Atocha station. Istituto Europeo di Design IED Madrid and Francisco de Vitoria University will also be present along with new addition Rey Juan Carlos University.
What’s more, Westwing, the first home décor shopping club in Spain, will have its own space in the Kissing Room.
Rodilla will provide the official catering for this edition, and will be also responsible for providing catering services to the press. Kaiku Caffé Latte, with its offer of ready-to-drink cold coffees, will provide a tasting of its products from its stand in the Cibelespacio.
There will also be other brands supporting this event such as Carrighan glasses, Anaconda Snacks Saludables, and the company Supreme Creations Studio, which has created the handbags for this edition, made from organic cotton. The firm Xyon Revolution will also collaborate with its sports shoes serving as the official footwear for the hostesses at this edition.
Furthermore, the Fashion TV channel will be this edition’s official international television channel.
